Whilst our new MD, Frenchman Hervé Donneaud, is eager to take to the road to meet as many of our customers as he can, the chances are, despite that, he’ll remain an unfamiliar face to the industry at large.
It’ll be a culture change for us: our previous MD was a prominent figure in UK vending, thanks largely do a four-year stint as Chair of industry body, the AVA. Indeed, Dave Ward’s blog became the best-read item in our regular newsletter, Evoca Today.
‘I see myself much more as the backstage producer than the man in the spotlight’, Hervé says. ‘I have the support of a great cast of experts whose members are already well-known to British vending and OCS operators, so I’ll be encouraging them to embrace the responsibility of delivering our marketing messages, with a particular emphasis on social media and, of course, our own outlet, ‘Evoca Today’.’
Hervé joins us with 15 years at Evoca under his belt, immediately after a sojourn of several years in Florida. From his base in Miami, in the sunshine state, he oversaw Evoca Group’s business in both North and South America.
He must have thought it couldn’t get any better than that but hey, now his office is in Bilston and his home is in Birmingham. Beat that! We think we heard him say ‘sacre bleu and zut alors’, so he obviously loves it here in the Black Country. It only goes to show, what’s not to love? (By the way, that’s Miami in the main picture, not Birmingham – although the similarities are uncanny, aren’t they?
